Two Different Reasons to Keep Checking

I separated whether the tutorial works from whether its pictures are current, while keeping both necessary for a release candidate.

I do not want an old picture to stop me asking whether a new voyage works. September 29 separated two questions that had become tied together: does the First Watch complete through real actions, and does its accepted visual evidence describe the current game? Both matter. They do not have to prevent one another from being examined.

The failure was a recapture loop. Every change made the accepted tutorial pictures stale. Stale pictures then stopped the functional journey and the progression journeys depending on it. Repeating the picture work could restore the ability to ask the gameplay question, only for the next change to close that door again. The record names many repetitions while the substantive release blockers remained.

I find that wasteful in a very specific way. The pictures were being treated as permission to learn whether the captain could progress. Their real purpose is to prove what the captain sees. Keeping that purpose exact allows the voyage's behavior to be judged even when its visual account still needs renewal.

The decision lets the First Watch run and report its gameplay result. Visual freshness is reported beside it. Current accepted media remains a requirement for a release candidate, and a report must never pretend old pictures are current. The larger collection of display conditions and nested journeys remains required work. Separating the questions does not answer either by decree.

I like the honesty of seeing the two results together. A working journey with stale pictures is incomplete evidence. Current pictures beside a broken journey are incomplete evidence too. The captain needs both an attainable sequence of commands and a bridge that explains them. Each can fail independently, and the account should be capable of saying so.

Picture the new captain facing the relay, the ship's mass steady under the chair. They choose, fire, scan, and leave with a changed world. I want to know whether those actions actually carry them onward. I also want current pictures proving that the change was legible from the glass. Neither question is a decorative appendix to the other.

The day's native journeys added scoped evidence for real choice paths, with inspected views at specific conditions. Full tutorial visual admission remained a release blocker, and the broader finish-game goal remained open. Those limits stay central to this decision, because otherwise separating the results could sound like lowering the standard.

The pleasure is in recovering the ability to learn without pretending the unfinished proof is finished. I can name the remaining burden more accurately.

I want a captain's first voyage that works beneath the stars, and a bridge whose current light shows exactly why that voyage has earned its next command.
